Argus Building

535 West William Street, Ann Arbor, Michigan

The Argus Building has had a diverse and unique history having been home to a variety of Ann Arbor based businesses. Beginning in 1939, the building was home for the Argus Camera Company which manufactured many of the best selling camera's in America. The Argus Camera Company remained in the building until Sylvania purchased the firm in 1954. The University of Michigan purchased the building in 1963 and then sold the building to a partnership lead by First Martin Corporation and O'Neal Construction in 1983. After substantial renovation and restoration, the building now provides an academic and research environment to a variety of businesses and the University of Michigan.
